My Story

My name is Brian Cook. I am currently twenty-three years old and as of November of 2019, I am 10 years cancer free. When I was twelve years old, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I went through six rounds of chemotherapy and seventeen rounds of radiation over a period of seven months, and have been in remission ever since. I was beyond blessed to have amazing doctors, family, and friends support me every step of the way. I know I would not be where I am today without their love and prayers. It is those people, that community, that has moved me to want to pay it forward. I knew I wanted to help in some way, but I never knew exactly how..

When I was sick, one of the worst things for me (besides the chemo or radiation) was that I wasn’t allowed to go to my families’ South Texas ranch. That was always my happy place - and still is. I’ve had a love for hunting and the outdoors from a very young age. I even studied this in college, graduating from Texas A&M in 2019 with a Bachelors degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. The day I was told I was officially in remission and was cleared, I headed straight down to the ranch with my dad. Since then, my love for the outdoors has only gotten stronger. I figured I can’t be the only sick kid out there that just wants to get away to the outdoors. So that’s where the idea was born for the Relentless Outdoors Foundation.

Now I have found my way to pay it forward. However, I still need your help. If you can, please consider making a financial donation. If that’s not something you can do right now, that’s ok, we have something more important. Please pray over The Relentless Outdoors Foundation. Pray for the kids we will encounter, pray for their health, pray for their families, and pray that we can make a positive impact on their life.
